I’ve been in and/or led Bible study small groups for years; why do I need to go through Rooted?
Rooted is for everyone! Groups thrive when they have a broad spectrum of faith and church experience. Whether you’ve been a Christian your whole life or one day, we believe Rooted will impact your life and your faith journey.
Research has proven that one of the most powerful ways we retain information is through experience. Rooted isn’t just about head knowledge, it’s about taking risks and actually doing things Jesus did. People practice these seven rhythms essential to a healthy relationship with Jesus – daily devotion, prayer, freedom from strongholds, sacrificial generosity, serving the community, sharing your story and celebrating.
Rooted groups model the value of a healthy spiritual community and simultaneously trains leaders to lead thriving life groups well beyond the 10-week experience. The entire Rooted experience is built with this goal in mind.
How do I register and what does it cost?
Each participant will need to register online at our website. The cost is $50 per participant, which includes the cost of the workbook as well as a catered meal at the Celebration.
How often will Rooted be offered?
The Rooted experience is offered at Compas Christian Church three times a year: Winter (Jan-March), Spring (April-June), and Fall (Sept-Nov).
Will childcare be provided?
Yes, Childcare will be available for ages 3 months - 10 years. The cost is only $50 per child for all 10 weeks of group sessions, plus the ending celebration event.
Where will Rooted groups meet?
Groups will meet at specific locations based on which Campus you sign up under. Each Campus has a dedicated place to host Rooted sessions. More information will follow in an email after you register.
When do I get my study guide?
All participants will receive their study guide on Launch Night.
Can I share a guide with someone?
Rooted is a very personal and powerful journey and having your own study guide is essential. A big part of the experience is individual reflection.
There are short daily readings and reflection questions. You will spend at least 20-30 minutes each day writing, reflecting, and listening.
Can I be in a group with a friend or someone I have invited to be in Rooted?
Yes, we will do our best to honor your request. There is a place on the registration form to provide this information.
How many people will be in a group?
There will be roughly 10-14 in a group just depending on demand. This changes each season.
Who will be facilitating the Rooted groups?
Rooted groups are led by people who have already completed the experience, have a desire to lead people through Rooted, and have been selected specifically by Compass staff to facilitate.
How are Rooted groups formed?
Rooted groups are formed primarily based on life stage. We take into consideration your geographic location, your age or marital status as well as whether or not you have children or are empty nesters. We pray over these groups and form them with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
What is the attendance policy?
We recommend that Rooted participants not miss more than two meetings for two reasons. First, if you miss three or more weeks, you will not get the full experience. Second, your group will be affected. You will miss out on things that are shared, which will affect the group dynamic when you return. If you miss more than two, you will be asked to re-register for a future session.
Are scholarships available?
Yes, partial scholarships are available based on need. There is a place on the registration form for this.
