Baby Dedication-Colleyville 2019

"For this boy I prayed, and the Lord has given me my petition which I asked of Him. So I have also dedicated him to the Lord; as long as he lives he is dedicated to the Lord." - 1 Samuel 1:27-28

If you have a child born or adopted during 2018, we invite you to participate in one of our two Baby Dedications during 2019. During the Thursday night church service, you, as parents, have the opportunity to make a public commitment before God, your church, and your family to raise your child in a Christ-centered home.

Commitments are done in a public setting to acknowledge the importance of being accountable to other Christians.

Families can enjoy a come-and-go cookie/punch reception following the church service.  A special gift from Compass Church will be given to families during the reception.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Who may dedicate a child?
Anyone who is making the choice to commit their life to model the ways of Jesus and the Bible to their child, or children, is welcome. If you are the only parent who is a follower of Christ, or you are a single parent, we welcome you to be part of a baby dedication celebration. Attending a Discovery Compass class is the only requirement to participate in the baby dedication celebration. If you have attended Discover Compass in the past, there is no need to attend again. A schedule for Discover Compass Classes may be found at www.mycompasschurch.com

What does Compass Christian Church believe about baby dedication and salvation?
Baby Dedication does not impart grace or salvation to a child. Salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ as each person recognizes their sinfulness and receives forgiveness and eternal life through Christ and His sacrifice.

Can unmarried parents participate in a family dedication service?
We believe that God’s Word teaches that parents who are living together should do so in a covenant marriage relationship. If this is not your situation, please set up a time to visit with one of our pastors.

At what age can a child take part in the baby dedication celebration?
We do not have a set age requirement for baby dedication. The average age for a child to be dedicated is four months up to two years.
